Ok! As a normal indian it is really embarrassing to see all the nonsense that has been going on in Bangalore for the last few days after the pub attack on women and people coming up with weird ways of protest !I just dont understand why people in the first place have to make such a fuss about Valentine's Day . I mean cant you let that go just as a normal day ...why get into politics on every damn issue .. I mean if a guy n girl wanna go around ...what is your problem ..they are anyways gonna do what they want !..so why do u bother ....and please dont give us this nonsense of "moral " ,"ethics" and "culture" ......we know wht it means and how to preserve it ...and if u r so bothered how come u just wake up close to "Valentine 's Day "or something like tht ??.....wht about the rest of the year ..ppl will say that these are jabronis who have lots of useless time so they should focus on other social problems that are troubling society ......My suggestion -leave alone focusing on other problems we dont want u to do constructive work .... JUST STAY SHUT ...
Now coming to one Miss Nisha supposedly spearheading the legendary "Pink Chaddi Campaign "...what a legendary name to begin with ......would make the entire cast of Kanti Shah's "Gunda" to shame ( i hope u knw wht the names of characters were ...).Now if Miss Nisha u had to protest of all things why u wanna give off ur lingerie...do u think that they have a fetish for chaddis ??!!....and to our surprise love is pouring from across the border and the world over .....so much so tht if it was sold ... he could buy satyam and could pull the entire economy out of recession just by himself !!!...and what a way to protest ...i mean just imagine :
Next time Pakistan plots a terrorist attack on India ...our ministers start to collect chaddis from all over the world and send it to Pakistan or how about carpet bombing and surgical strikes in PoK with pink chaddis ?? .Imagine ministers flying to Obama ,Sarkozy n others(with Kasab's chaddis as the proof ) to ask them for donating their own chaddis in support !!And as for Pakistan ..they'll say we only accept chinese chaaddis ....so Indian government should talk to Chinese government on Pakistan's behalf ! !Or for tht matter imagine in press conferences of world leaders like the one tht bush had in iraq ..ppl would throw chaddis when they wanted to express their anger !!!!Please miss nisha if u wanna punish them make them watch Love story 2020 or make them hear to anu malik ....but please think this over ...... isnt your proposal of sending lingerie disgracing the dignity of women further?
And then we come to the third class of buggers .....Now these are supposedly anti moral policing groups ...they again are self proclaimed custodians .doing their "Valentinegiri ":P..yeh to gazab ho gaya !!....aadhe velle log moral police karo aur aadhe velle log inko police karo ..aur desh ka mazaak banao !!....I mean just imagine how is it possible for lovers to enjoy when any one of them is around.... for god sake cant u just leave them alone ????.....they dont need your "louuuv vehicles " for a "fun-filled " V-day ....Anyways they cant have fun if u r around :P ..so just leave them and guys find a chic for urself !!
Anyways , I have my plans set ..gonna watch "Billu"(supposedly it was "Billu Barber " but then Barbers complained and hence the new name !!! I mean whats so demeaning in tht dudes?what do u wanna be addressed as ???"Sir Billu Barber "?? do u have to spring up a controversy evrywhr ?) on 14th with friends ...I hope its worth the money !Will get back with the review ..
cheers ,
Yours Truly
PS: Few people have asked me " if not chaddis then what "...good tht my friends brought up this question .. so i thought it would be btr to answer it here than the comments section..
1)First of all i think its not tht there is nothing but chaddis to offer . I mean the name itself insults and weakens your cause against the moral police .Why give them a chance to raise a finger at you ?
2) I get it your aim is to "shame " the moral police ..fine ...then why dont u send something like shoes ...i mean they are not bad ...George Bush got a taste of tht in real style....send them stinky shoes or smelly socks ..(if u dont have them i have lots :P ).......if u cant buy a shoe send a chappal ...not even tht... send a photo of a chappal ......show ur protest ...thts the way !

Well I agree with you on one account... this campaign is disgraceful- for women and for our country. But the bottom line here is that in the absence of any kind of support/assurance from the government, there is not much left to do. The point of sending pink underwear is not to disgrace women or because these guys have a fetish for them(!!) but to shame them
ReplyDeleteTell me what other form of protest from women of this country would have made the public sit and take notice? My guess is when this campaign was launched the idea was to gather public support and prevent the issue from disappearing just like so many others.
Truth is not always apparent. This whole episode is not about some Muthalik or his frisky boys. I t is bigger than that. It is about our fundamental rights, about the right wing self appointed moral gurus who are trying to dictate our lives, about my freedom and most importantly about the future of our country. Coz already there are many who are ready to run away from here given an opportunity. Even though you might call them losers, I am afraid it is not the best thing that can happen to India. That to because of some lunatics...
i'll wear a pink chaddi over my pants like superman or shaktimaan to be desi!!! how bout dat fr a protest!
ReplyDeletevery strong comment, but nice post.
ReplyDeleteOne way to look at pinkchaddi campaign is to treat it as a humorous campaign. Whats wrong in having some fun (and disgracing the ministers in the process?) :P Get some pink chaddis, and photoshop them onto the ram sena minister's photo and spread it all over the internet. That will tell them not to mess with Valentine's in the future :D
@NAL'I'n'I' (Ahh i hate this caps lock thing )...i hope u have got ur answers ..chk out the changed post .
ReplyDelete@Danny : wear something similar over ur shirt also :P..u may be nominated along side Rajni Sir for ur costumes !!
@Abhishek : Thanks a lot for the techno soln ..I hope ppl are gonna keep a note of it for V-Day 2010.
u sick dumbo morone...don't u talk abt dignity of women n disgrace..it has got absolutely nothing to do wid da campaign...n tell u wt, u r the typical hypocrite indian who on one hand talks abt freedom of expression not being denied but is not willing to break the shackles of so-called traditional wisdom which only teaches you to get back to ur chauvinistic ideas with least tolerance for non-conventional acts somewhat similar to wt this courageous gal nisha did!!
ReplyDeleteThe way you hav negated her effort and sarcastically put everything puts me off big time. I am no feminist but yes, I hav gr8 respect for women n i take this opportunity to challenge ur wisdom and also suggest you- If you don't have it in you to shrug off hypocrisy n think rationally, don't u ever try mincing words n misdirecting ppl..remember blogging is a powerful tool very much prone to be abused...i am expecting an apology asap...
i used to like the name... Nisha.. until recently.. :P
ReplyDelete@Sundaram : "I hav gr8 respect for women"...joke of the century ...may be millenium !as far as apology is concerned i shall come to the campus myself to do tht ...campus aane do batata hun tumhe!!!!...:P:P
ReplyDelete@KK : Kyun ??Kya hua ??Kaunsi Nisha ki baat ho rahi hain? :P:P:P
aah.. dunno how.. just.. Nisha seems so nice, calm, soothing... guess it was Madhuri's name in Dil to Pagal Hai right? :) :) since then i love Nisha :D abhi itna acha nahi lagta :| :|
ReplyDeleteand lol @ sundaram! :D
hi,
ReplyDeleteNice post. As far as the campaign is concerned i personally feel that even men were allowed to send their chaddis to support the campaign. And we have a bigger issue here. Its not just about me,my right or my freedom. Its abt the deterioration of the soceity as a whole and growing intolerance in our country. These problems needs a discussion forum with much more reach than blogger.
@Nivedita :Thanks for your comments .My whole point was that even though what happened was disgraceful doing some thing like a "chaddi " campaign was further humiliating .....and yes I agree that it needs a discussion forum larger than wht blogs can do.... more so I think this incident was just the tip of an iceberg ...we have intolerance spreading all over the country in various forms which is making mockery of our country ...
